Backpacking the Balkans 2019

Hi I’m Rebekah, preferably known as Higgy! I’m 17 and a young leader for 2nd Gatley Guides in Stockport. I study Art, English Literature and Language and Psychology at Aquinas College in Stockport. I was a Brownie, Guide and am now a young leader and have been involved in Guiding since I was 10. This is my first region trip with guides and my first trip abroad with guides as well. I’ve only ever done camping trips within the northwest before and excited to be going abroad with Guides and, couldn’t be with a better group of girls in my opinion!

Hi, I'm Annie! I'm 18 and have lived in South Cumbria my whole life. I'm currently finishing studying my A Levels (History, English Literature and Religious Language). I'm a Brownie Assistant Leader. I first became a Young Leader at 15 and I'm planning on carrying it on at uni. This is not only my first international trip with Girlguiding but my first time going abroad! I've been so inspired by planning and organising this trip that I've treated myself to a solo holiday to Athens, Greece, before I head to Bangor University to study Medieval and Early Modern History. I'm excited to finally get to experience the world with the amazing girls in our group! I've never had the opportunity to go on a trip such as this one and it'll be one I'll forever cherish. I'm most looking forward to discovering new places that I never would have thought of going to.

Hi! I’m Eleanor, I’m 16 years old and I’m from West Cumbria. I joined Girlguiding when I was 10, and at the moment I’m a Ranger, as well as a Young Leader at Brownies. I’m currently doing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh, and this trip will be my residential. My favourite Girlguiding experience was my BP trip to Edinburgh because I love the city, and we got to visit Edinburgh Castle and go shopping on Princes Street. Although I’ve been to many Guide camps and trips within the UK, I’ve never been on a Girlguiding international trip so I’m looking forward to this new experience.
